Looking for a way to celebrate magical realism on a more regular basis? Why not honor an MR writer on their birthday? Read their book/s, plan an activity inspired by their work, or write a blog entry about them. Dress up in costume! Write a poem about them! Make cupcakes decorated by images from their books (for instance, baseballs on top of cupcakes to celebrate The Natural). Whatever you do, make it weird, funny, fun, even political.
